Clare Kerrigan

I’ve practiced yoga since my teens, I can remember the experience of leaving my first class feeling calm, happy and contented, like many people!.. I kept going back because of that feeling and Yoga has been a constant companion in my life since then.

In 2013 after years of thinking about it I decided to go for it and study to become a yoga teacher. I took my 200hr teacher training with Yogacampus, who I now work for as a contact teacher and mentor. Alongside my initial studies with Yogacampus in the UK, I was fortunate enough at the time to receive a grant through the Equity Charitable Trust which enabled me to take my first trip to India in 2013 to study yogic practices there. I’ve studied 1-1 Yoga Therapy at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, Ashtanga yoga in Mysore and I go back to Rishikesh in the foothills of the Himalayas as much as possible to immerse myself in practice and philosophy with my teacher. In 2019 I travelled to India to continue my studies with a further 300hr teacher training with Trimurti in Dharamsala.

Since 2014 I’ve been teaching regular classes, 1-1’s and workshops in Leeds and I’ve held retreats in the UK, Europe and India. The classes that I teach are predominantly Hatha, Flow and Restorative Yoga. I've also specialised in teaching Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra - a beautiful and very healing form of deep relaxation & I've studied as a Well Woman Yoga Therapy teacher, which is a nourishing and restorative practice that honours the cyclical nature of women’s lives - within this I’ve also specialised as a pregnancy yoga teacher. Lots of yoga study! - I thoroughly enjoy this continued Yoga learning. My daily practice varies but always includes my Kriya yoga and meditation practice.

Back in March 2020 I moved up to live and teach alongside my husband Edward Harpin at The Tree Relaxation Retreat on the beautiful North York Moors (we had a little lockdown wedding in the Summerof 2020).

"May I have the courage today to live the life that I would love.

To postpone my dream no more but do at last what I came here for

& waste my heart on fear no more".
